Mary Ellen Luff

Mary E. Luff, born February 6th, 1937, passed away peacefully on July 2nd, 2022, surrounded
by her loving family. Mary is survived by her son, W. Edwin Sauer (Roseann) and daughter,
Gretchen (Sauer) McHale (Joseph). She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ellen Sauer.
She is also survived by her six beloved grandchildren: Cody, Joanna, Kevin, Douglas, Kelly and
Amy.
Mary was an avid reader and could always be found solving the daily crossword and cryptogram
puzzles. Those who knew Mary know she was a die-hard Phillies fan and she loved watching
her team. She enjoyed summers at the Jersey Shore. She would often share her wisdom over a
cup of coffee and a Dot’s doughnut in the morning on the porch. She had a long and successful
career in banking, retiring as a Regional Vice President from Core States Bank. More than
anything, however, Mary loved being with her family. They were her true joy in life and they
loved her fiercely.
Family and friends are invited to Mary’s visitation on Friday July 8th, 2022 from 10:00 to 11:00
AM at the Cavanagh Patterson Family Funeral Home, 43 E. Baltimore Ave. Media PA, 19063. Her
Memorial Service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of
