Deborah Mullarkey left a message on June 17, 2022:
My deepest sympathy to the Simpers family. I grew up with the Simpers family on Lakeview Dr. in Ridley Park. Julie was my best friend, Michael and Tom would join us sometimes in our games and adventures, or misadventures I should say. I always think of the family on the July 4th holiday as they would celebrate 3 generations of birthdays, as well as our nation's birthday (Mrs. Simpers on the 3rd, Julie on the 4th, and later Anna on the 5th). Mrs. Simpers was the kindest, most gentle woman I've known. Unlike many today, who loudly virtue signal at the drop of a hat, Mrs. Simpers quietly put her faith and Christian values out there with her actions. I am reminded of the Virtuous Wife (woman) in Proverbs when I think of her, especially Proverbs 31:25 - 31. She spent her entire life serving God, her family and many others in the community. We should look to her as an example and pray that more would reject this culture of self and follow in her selfless footsteps. She had a ready smile and words of encouragement for anyone who was going through one of life's trials. She had a way of pointing out the positives in life to encourage one to get up and move on as she did. This attribute was enhanced further by her twinkling blue eyes and quick Irish wit / humor. Without a doubt, the Lord welcomed her home with that promised greeting, "Well done good and faithful servant." I was also sad to read in this obituary that Tom had passed several years ago. He had many of his mother's qualities, especially a positive attitude. My thoughts and prayers will be with you all. God bless, Debbie Mullarkey
