Kenneth Glen Bazis, 57, of Holmes, passed away April 9, 2021 after a long battle with cancer. He fought the fight!
He was born June 21, 1964 in Penn Pines and attended Upper Darby High School.
Ken was known for his love of the arts. He was an excellent artist and painter. He drew the mural in his late wife’s hair salon. At a young age, he was even accepted into a famous art school. As a teenager, he had learned how to play the drums. He continued to play his entire life, right up into his last days. He was in a few bands. He loved doing it!
Ken also loved gardening and animals. He adored his two chihuahuas that he had raised with his late wife. He was an amazing cook and griller. He cooked for his friends and neighbors. Even while undergoing treatment, he would make bulk lunches, go into the city, and give out food to the homeless.
For many years, he was a concrete mason. He also worked for Butch Stephen’s Ponds and Gardens.
His favorite people were his grandsons Khalid and Noah. He was known as “Poppy”. He made holidays, especially Halloween, special for the kids.
Ken is predeceased by his wife Tina Louise Young, his father Charles Bazis, his grandmother Evelyn Brennan, and his brother Timothy Bazis.
He’s survived by his daughter Lauren Jade Young (Rich), his grandchildren Khalid and Noah, his mother Elaine Bazis, his siblings Eric Bazis (Diana), Mike Bazis (Paula), Cindy Dunn Bazis, Timothy’s widow, Deanne, and their families.
Ken will be missed and greatly remembered for his heart and strength.
