My sincere sympathy to you all. I do believe Mr. Porter was the one who served with my nephew, Michael Shane Caley, (who was killed) in Vietnam and I think he was the one, who in 2010 put a Happy Birthday message to my nephew on the Tribute Wall. For this I thank him so much!! I have been searching and searching for him and now think I have found him, but too late. I am 84 myself and was thinking I would never find the right Mr. Porter. Blessings to you all.

A memory of Gary: While Gary, Paula, Rob and I were in a Bubba Lous in Florida, after we finished eating, Gary slammed the table stood up tall and proud and announced to the entire restaurant, "I'VE BEEN COAST TO COAST AND NEVER HAVE I EVER BEEN TO A PLACE LIKE BOBBA LOUGIES!!!' I remember laughing so hard that I got scared because I wasn't breathing! Gary you were also the first one to teach me how to handle a firearm and always showed me love. You were always loved and will forever be loved and missed by many! Rest in Power Gary Porter.

Gary, though I knew you for a short time since dating your son Robert. You always took care of the people you loved. My son misses you dearly and I know he will miss the time he spent with you. Always giving him workouts to do and even sneaking notes back and forth at the dinner table so that he wouldn’t have to finish his dinner and could have dessert because you would tell me he finished it all. I will miss your stories and you showing me pictures - even if you did share them with me probably 3 times prior. I enjoyed hearing them because you were so happy and proud of the things you’ve done in your life. Once a Marine, always a Marine! Love and miss you Gary!

"Lo, there do i see my father. Lo, there do i see my mother. Lo, there do i see the line of my ancestors back to the beginning. Lo, there do they call to me. Lo, there do they call to me." - Norse Funeral Prayer. Dad, you've taught me so much, I wouldn't be the man I am today if it was not for you. I love you Dad, and I miss you so much. Soar high with the Valkyries. Semper Fi Dad.
