Elvia Rosa Moreno Arocho, 90 of Springfield passed away Wednesday January 19, 2022 at the Crozer Keystone Inpatient Hospice at Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park, PA. She was born December 3, 1931 in Panama.
Elvia came to the United States in 1956, became a U.S Citizen and worked as a seamstress at Quartermaster’s Defense Supply in South Philly sewing the military uniforms. She loved to dance and sew by making dresses, covers for pillows, couches and many other items. She loved going to the casino’s and buying lottery scratch offs and from time to time she would win different amounts. She loved spending time with her kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
On December 4, 2021, she celebrated her 90th Birthday with her family, neighbors from Southwest Philly and her friends from work. She had a wonderful time dancing with her grandkids, daughters and nephew.
The last 20 years she worked as a granny at Delco Learning Center in Holmes, PA, she loved the children and they loved her. She would teach them Spanish and French words and songs and the children would talk and sing in these languages.
In addition to her parents, Elvia was preceded in death by her husband, Cleofe Sr; her son’s Joe and Nelson and three brothers: Alcibiades, Jaime and Gustavo Moreno.
Survivors include: Daughters: (Elvia Rocio Montalvo (Paul), Joanna Arocho Foley, (Bill), Son: Cleofe Arocho Jr, Grandchildren: Donnamarie Arocho, A.J. DeNoffa, Gianna Arocho and Great-Grandchildren: Jason & Nathan Dangelantonio, and her brother Azael Moreno, who still resides in Panama)

Family and Friends are invited to Elvia’s viewing Wednesday January 26, 2022 from 9:45 to 10:45 AM at St. Gabriel Catholic Church 233 Mohawk Ave., Norwood. Funeral Mass will immediately follow at 11 AM. Interment in Fernwood Cemetery, Lansdowne.
