On Tuesday, April 6th, 2021, Edward Hugh McEntee, devoted father of Sean Edward (RaeLynn), Stafford, VA and Kevin James (Natalie), Colorado Springs, CO, and lovinging “Pop-pop” to Katelynn, Joshua, Rosemary, Josephine, Magnolia, and Dorothy peacefully passed away at home.
Edward was a retired public servant, who worked for the Department of Defense as a logistician for almost 35 years. He was a 1966 graduate of LaSalle College (University) Business School and a 1978 graduate of the Temple University Graduate School. Most recently, Ed served the community working for the ENDependence Center of Northern Virginia (ECNV) as a disabilities advocate and served as a member, and later Chairman of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), Bus and Rail Accessibility Committee, a position to which he was appointed for several terms.
Ed was preceded in death by his beloved partner in life Janice, to whom he was married for 33 years before her passing in 2013. Ed was also preceded in death by his mother and father, Marie Catherine and Edward Daniel, his brother, Joseph Edward and sister, Rosemary McEntee-Houston. He is survived by his children and grandchildren, brothers John (Peggy) and Francis (Claire), sister-in-law, Judith Deardorff-Winchell (David) and a large loyal pack of nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 17th, 2021, at Saint Dorothy’s Catholic Church in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, with visitation preceding at 9 a.m. Interment at the Saint Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, Pennsylvania will follow the Mass.
COVID 19 Social Distancing and Facemask Protocols will be required.
All are invited, however, for those who choose not to physically attend, a LIVESTREAM of the funeral mass will be broadcasted on the St. Dorothy’s Catholic Church website YOUTUBE page at:
LIVESTREAM will not begin until the start of Mass at 10 AM.
